  1. Hannah Deakin says:

    Dearest Ben,

    Happy 39th Birthday!

We hope the stars are shining brightly for you. We love you so much and think the request will be for a chocolate birthday cake!

Love Mum, Dad and Hannah x x x

  2. Hannah Deakin says:

Happy Easter dear Ben. It may be 14 years, something that is quite hard to comprehend. Sometimes it feels not long, and more often now, it feels so long ago. So much you have missed. So many opportunities you should have had.
I know how different I look, so I am sure you would look much more grown up now at 38. I can’t imagine how you would look now.
I will always tell people I have a brother as I still do, and always will. I hope you can look down and see all the positive changes and milestones and heaven is a lovely place.
I am remembering all the Easters with you, Mum and Dad and Easter celebrations with family at ours or Adam and Matt’s house.
Sending you so much love you will always be remembered x x x

  3. Hannah Deakin says:

One day Ben I will get this right! And guessing your website doesn’t like heart symbols as it has translated it to many question marks. I will try again!

Happy 38th Birthday Ben! You will forever be in our hearts. We love you to the moon and back but no words are ever enough. Sometimes life just doesn’t seem fair. I am grateful that I had and will always have a brother, and that that brother was you.

As the years go on I see I have changed and look older but I don’t know what you would look like as there are no more photos beyond 24 and it is hard to imagine.

Love you so much and miss you everyday and know Mum and Dad do too. Love Hannah x x x

  4. Hannah Deakin says:

    Dearest Ben,

Wishing you a very Happy 37th Birthday! We love you so much and miss you every day. We think of you a lot and have been especially on your birthday. We hope you enjoy a peroni or two. Dad often has one remembering you. Lee had one for you last night and several people text remembering you.

Adam and Kat got married in September which I did a reading on our behalf. You were very much missed, especially as we all grew up together.

Much love Mum, Dad and Hannah x x

P.s One day I will get this right first time lol????!

  5. Hannah Deakin says:

Happy Easter dear Ben. 12 years today, it seems impossible and yet also so very real. It will always be one of the hardest days each year, along with others including your Birthday and Christmas. Easter is meant to be a day full of happiness that Christ is risen and yet it is also full of heartbreak signifying the day you died and another year you have not been with us. I love you to the moon and back Benny. You are with us everyday and forever will be. Love and hugs Hannah x x x p.s I have done it again and ended up post this as a reply so I will take two! X

  6. Hannah Deakin says:

The end of 2022 Ben. At the end of 2021 we raised over £6500 in our #BenHannah3530 challenge. We miss you so much and you were very much missed at Christmas and will be going into 2023. Wishing you a Happy New Year! Sending much love and hugs x x

  7. Hannah Deakin says:

Happy 35th Birthday Ben! I have just walked my 35th length of my challenge up to your tree. We did it! We completed our #BenHannah3530 challenge. Thank you for walking with me every step of the way.

10 years may have passed but you are still missed by many and making a big difference in the world. We have raised a huge amount of money for Starlight, Child Bereavement UK and White Lodge.
Last month you were head hunted for a job which was nice 🙂

We love you with all our hearts. We think of you everyday and miss you so very much.

Love Mum, Dad and Hannah x x x

  8. Hannah Deakin says:

Happy Easter Ben. I have just realised my last comment has come out as a comment on Jay’s post- your untechy sister. I am sure you will find it.
10 years my dear Ben. I miss you more than any words can express. A decade of time. It seems so long ago, so much has changed and people have moved on and lives have progressed and it makes me so sad that your’s has not. To others it may not be the date but to me and us as a family it will always be Easter day. 10 years on, a day of bright sunshine and blue skies again, it seems impossible. A day full of such hope that Christ has risen and new life yet also one full of heartbreak. I hope you are in heaven, a better place and know how much you are loved and missed everyday. Your tree is growing tall, strong X x x

  9. Hannah Deakin says:

Happy New Year Ben! I hope the lights and tree decorations have stayed on your tree and shone a light up to you in heaven. A strange Christmas with Covid restrictions but we did a zoom quiz with Diana, Ron, Adam, Kat, Matt and Lucy which was good fun…and we didn’t loose lol! You know what our knowledge is like! Unfortunately, it looks like at the start of 2021 things are getting worse. I hope you are safe and well up there and enjoyed a peroni or 2. Love Hannah x x x x

  10. Hannah Deakin says:

    Dear Ben,

Wishing you a very Happy 34th Birthday. It is hard to believe it is 10 years since that photo was taken on your 24th Birthday. Surreal. Just yesterday in someways and generations in another. I wonder whether you would look much older now? Several friends and family friends have messaged us today which always means so much. We went to your tree at the weekend, it was lovely to see the pansies we planted 2 weeks earlier were flowering and that Kath, Luke and Miriam had been to visit your tree too. Today we went to the crematorium and put a card and some flowers there for you too. Missing you all the time. Sometimes life feels so cruel. Love you with all our hearts Mum, Dad and Hannah x x x x

  11. Natalie says:

Lovely to see the photos on here, especially your smiling face. You are always in our memories and hearts. I will never forget what a kind and thoughtful person you were. Such a true gentleman and a wonderful brother. Lots of love xx

  12. Hannah Deakin says:

    Hi Ben,

We went to your tree a few weeks ago. My first trip out in the last 3 months. It has been a strange time with Covid-19. Something we have never experienced in our lifetime.
Your tree is doing really well, very tall and so many leaves. I was hoping to attach a photo on here- but I am not that techy as you know- although I think I have improved a little!
I am sorry I have not posted on here before, I used to post on your facebook page but since it has been hacked I will encourage people to post on here. A great site that has been set up in your memory.
We had a nice video chat with Jay and Matt from uni a few weeks ago.
We had a good chat with cousin Matt and Lucy in Barcelona and did a virtual quiz with them and Diana and Ron.
Sending so much love Hannah x x

  13. Bearman says:

A new tune matey.. loving it. Miss the banter. We are planning a summer hol to Majorca soon. You will be missed there man

    • Hannah Deakin says:

Hey Benny, (Ben) you will probably be really annoyed at me for writing that! But I am just here to tell you a few of the things I have just told you. Including how much I love and miss you. I have completed my 30th length of my #BenHannah3530 challenge and raised £4912 (£5700+ Including gift aid) for White Lodge, Starlight Children’s Foundation and Child Bereavement UK. Our cousin Matt is cycling up the mountain in Barcelona 30 times and some of your uni friends are planning a 30 mile walk (but maybe I should persuade them to do 35 km) for you. Not sure they will make 35 miles in a day! They are hoping to finish at your tree. Love Hannah X x

  14. Jay says:

I’m really liking this tune at the moment and I’m sure I would have heard it a lot sooner with your legendary song recommendations. Like back to the old skool tracks.. I remember us playing some classics.

Thoughts going out to you and your family man! x

  15. Natalie Tehrani says:

My mum and Jill have been close friends for years. Me and Ben used to play together when we were little and my brother and Hannah are in the same school year too. Our families often meet at Christmas or New Year and one of my favourite memories of Ben is of last Christmas when my family went over to Jill and Brian’s house. We had a fun night of chatting, eating Christmas treats and playing with a singing moose (actually me and Hannah kept playing it, much to Ben’s horror 🙂 and I eventually made poor Ben take a photo with it. He very kindly agreed and I love the picture. I will always remember Ben as a sweet, lovely person, who loved his family and would do anything for them, especially for his sister. Ben also had a talent at choosing stylish clothes for Hannah from Topshop! We will all remember Ben’s kindness and lovely character xxxx

  16. Jay Beirne says:

This was a song that Ben linked on my facebook wall some time ago and suggested I had a listen. He loved sports cars and often made funny comments about “young money”. Aston Martin Music..

  17. Jay Beirne says:

Please feel free to post up any tributes, memories, links or comments that you want to share with family and friends. The site is here to remember and pay respect to Ben – a fantastic friend who we will never forget.
